Is your busy life stopping you from having your beauty sleep? Visiting a beauty salon for a rejuvenating massage is all well and good but you can’t exactly spend hundreds of dollars every week on a facial or any other spa treatment.

What’s our advice?

Go natural!

You have probably heard stories about how ancient goddesses and queens like Aphrodite, Cleopatra, and Nefertiti kept their beauty. In case you don’t know, they primarily used all kinds of herbs in their beauty regimes. They have considered some of the most beautiful women in the world it makes sense to follow in their footsteps.

If you don’t want to buy beauty creams that cost thousands of dollars then you have come to the right place! Today, I am going to impart my beauty knowledge about DIY face masks for glowing skin:

Let’s begin:

Why Apply an Overnight Beauty Mask

You are probably wondering why a night face mask, right? Well, a night mask works double the magic on your skin. When you apply the mask before going to sleep, the ingredients work overnight and repair the skin by boosting hydration.

You will find dozens of face masks online but in my opinion, creating one with natural ingredients will give your skin more nutrients that will put a permanent glow on it.

With the glowing skin make sure to do your manicure and pedicure at home like a professional. It will make you look clean and confident including saving salon expenses.

Lemon and Milk Cream (For Dry and Normal Skin)

Lemon and milk cream are two ingredients that are always available in the pantry. The fatty acids in the cream help moisturize the skin deeply and lemon lightens your complexion. If you have minor facial scars then this mask will help you clear your skin. If incidentally, you are out of lemons, you can use a lemon toner instead.

Here’s how to make this mask:
• Dairy Cream: 1 teaspoon
• Freshly-Squeezed Lemon Juice: ¼ teaspoon
• In a bowl, mix cream and lemon (don’t let the mixture sit or it will split)
• Before going to bed, apply the mixture on your face and gently massage (avoid getting to close to the eyes)
• Leave it overnight and wash it in the morning with warm water

Coconut Oil

This powerhouse of a face mask targets three skin problems: softness, glow, and scars. The benefits of coconut oil are numerous. It helps decrease trans-epidermal water loss, reduce inflammation, calm your skin, treat sun damage, and improve hydration.

The addition of yogurt moisturizes the skin and by applying the face mask overnight, you will wake up with extremely soft skin.

Here’s how to make this mask:
• Coconut Oil: ½ tablespoon
• Yogurt: ½ tablespoon
• Lemon: ½ tablespoon
• In a bowl, mix yogurt, coconut oil, and lemon
• Wash your face using a face wash and then apply the mixture on your face
• Gently rub the mixture in your skin until it has been absorbed
• Wash your face with warm water in the morning

Turmeric is used in everything – food, skin treatments, and medicine. It’s an Ayurvedic remedy that has deep roots in ancient medicine. It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.

Moreover, it works as an antioxidant and helps reduce photo-aging and acne, and improves overall skin health. As for the milk in this face mask, it gives your skin firmness. This is one of the best ingredients for DIY face masks for a glowing skin

Here’s how to make this mask:
• Turmeric Powder: ½ teaspoon
• Raw Milk: 1 tablespoon
• Water
• Add turmeric powder and raw milk in a bowl, a mix thoroughly
• Take a cotton ball and dip it in water
• Dip the cotton ball in the dry mixtures and apply it on the skin (just like when you apply toner)
• When your face is fully covered, let the mixture dry
• Sleep with the mask overnight and rinse your face with warm water in the morning
Note: This mask tends to create a little mess and since turmeric can leave behind permanent stains, cover your pillow with an old pillowcase.

A honey face mask offers three benefits for the skin: it has antibacterial properties that prevent acne, and the antioxidants keep the skin young, which also boosts complexion. The addition of oats is merely for creating a scrub-like feel. Since oats become soft when they are submerged in liquid, they will not be too harsh on the skin.

Here’s how to make this mask:
• Honey: 2 teaspoons
• Oats: 2 teaspoons
• Water
• In a bowl, mix oats and honey (let the oats rest for 5 minutes to soften them up)
• Add a little water if you feel the mixture is too thick
• Mash the oats in the honey until a gooey mixture forms
• Apply the mixture on your skin and let it dry (you may brush off any excess oats)
• Sleep with the mask overnight and rinse your face with warm water in the morning
Note: This mask also tends to create a little mess so cover your pillow with an old pillowcase.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has nutrients galore from vitamins E, C, and A to enzymes, amino acids, and salicylic acid. All these ingredients help reduce inflammation, protect skin from damaging UV rays, and promote collagen. By adding a vitamin E capsule in this aloe vera face mask, the cell function of the skin improves, which restores a youthful glow.

Here’s how to make this mask:
• Vitamin E Gel Capsule: 1
• Fresh Aloe Vera Gel: 2 tablespoon
• Cut out the aloe vera pulp and grind it in a blender
• Pour the liquid in a bowl and squeeze out one vitamin E gel capsule into it
• Apply the mixture on your face and mask, and massage it gently
• Keep it overnight and wash your face with cold water in the morning

The combination of rose water and almond oil is great for the skin. Rosewater soothes skin irritation, reduces skin redness, and heals scars. Perhaps, the biggest benefit rose water offers for the skin is that it helps with dermatitis and eczema, and reduces acne. Almond oil prevents UV radiation damage, makes the skin smooth, and reduces fine lines.

This DIY face mask for a glowing skin contains multiple beneficial ingredients but the addition of rose water is what makes it so good for the skin.

Here’s how to make this mask:
• Rosewater: 2 teaspoons
• Honey: 2 tablespoons
• Almond Oil: 2 tablespoon
• Vitamin E Oil: 3 drops
• Mix all the ingredients in a bowl
• Use your fingertips to gently massage the mixture in your skin
• Leave it for 20 minutes and then gently tap your face to make sure that your skin is not stiff
• Sleep with the mask on overnight and rinse your face in the morning with warm water

It’s worth repeating a second time that an overnight face mask is better than store-bought creams and beauty masks. The natural ingredients are what give you glowing skin, just like Cinderella’s.

After all, she is the most beautiful Disney princess of all, and who doesn’t like to feel like a princess?
